Rachel Greenup

Born and raised in California, Ms. Rachel pursued the arts at a young age. Dancing was her first love when she started taking ballet lessons at the age of three but it was her ear for music that inspired her to study violin. She was 8 years old when she joined the Ojai Youth Orchestra, 3 months after learning to play, then a couple years later earned the role of first violinist. Some of her earlier musical accomplishments include receiving awards at various competitions and being accepted to the prestigious Idyllwild Arts Academy Highschool where she studied under Todor Pelev.

Prior to pursuing her music degree at CSUN, Ms. Rachel studied abroad in Slovakia with a renowned violinist, Peter Michalica and then voice and acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Hollywood. She also found interest in piano, just like her mother who wanted to become a concert pianist, and advanced her skills. For the past 8 years, she has found love for teaching music and helping students find joy in music education. Rachel is available on Fridays
